Jason Newsom "Big Daddy" was raised as
a goat herder in the mountainous terrain of Nepal. As a young boy he dreamed
of one day owning a fireworks stand in the Redneck Riviera. He made the
pilgrimage as a young man only to find that firework stands weren't a money
making venture. So he started a restaurant on the river.
Okay, I am not
really a goat herder from Nepal but a fireworks stand in
Gulf Shores would be cool!

My
name is Jason “Big Daddy” Newsom and I have opened a
restaurant on beautiful Fish River in Fairhope, Alabama.
I have spent the past 20 years of my life working in the
restaurant industry in Baldwin county with a couple of
years of teaching the fine young people of Fairhope,
Daphne, and Gulf Shores mixed in during that time. I have
a true passion for the restaurant business and love making
people happy. Thanks to Al Weeks I finally have an
opportunity to have a restaurant of my own. It has been a
dream of mine for many years and now my dream has become a
reality. I hope that each and every guest that chooses
Big Daddy’s will have a great experience. I also hope
that I get to know each and every guest that comes into my
restaurant. To steal a line from a popular television
show, I want to be the place “where everybody knows your
name.” So come on by and visit with friends, eat some
great food, listen to some great music, say hello to my
beautiful family, Susan (bride), Hannah (angel), and Max
(wild thang) and enjoy yourself. Big Daddy’s is about the
locals, so don’t be a stranger.
Sincerely,
Jason |
